Personal Project: Clockwork Spy

Clockwork Spy is a cinematic game which player can use his clock to solve puzzles and reach the objective. Player is a spy with a magical clock that can adjust the timeline of certain objects. There are multiple ways to succeed or fail each level.

This is a student game project, and I was responsible for gameplay development in the team.

DESIGN PILLARS

  • Mechanics Focused: The goal of the design is to feature the mechanics made possible by the controller. We want players to have the experience that the controller can provide. Featuring the time-control mechanics is the most important aspect of our design.

  • Environment Focused: The goal of the puzzle design is to get the player to pay attention to the environment, specifically the objects in the environment that can be controlled by the time-control mechanics. Level design and art design support this goal by keeping environmental clutter to a minimum and creating visual clarity.
